I usually don’t stress out much. My main concerns are my food, my daily walks and plays. When it’s time for my walk and my owner does not show up ready, leash in hand, then I worry. Has forgotten? Missing one of the customary daily walks is the worst that can happen to a dog!

Something similar happened to me a few days back and these are the three steps that I came up with to overcome all anxiety:

  1. Stop what you are doing and lie down on a sofa without doing anything.
  2. Breathe deeply and think of how sensational you are.
  3. Evaluate the seriousness of the situation: how important will it be in 24 hours?

Result of my three steps:

  1. Lying down immediately relaxes me.
  2. Reminding myself of how sensational I am always makes me feel good.
  3. In 24 hours it would have been time for my next walk and my problem would have been solved . Seriousness of the situation = 0.

Fortunately, my owner saw me relaxing on the sofa and she said: “down!”. Then I barked looking at the door and she understood I needed to go out. We went out. Problem solved!
Now you see….relaxing and lying on the sofa is often the solution to almost everything!
